Senior Spotlight: Rachel VanValkenburg

Rachel is graduating in English, with an emphasis in Literary Studies and a minor in Business. She is currently seeking admission to Graduate School!
Rachel's favorite Kappa Delta tradition is White Rose Weekend because "everyone is there and we are all reminded of the ritual that connects us."
Her piece of advice for Beta Delta sisters? "I would say that these years are important in figuring out who you are and what you want. Use them. Don't let anyone tell you who to be--take everything in stride and grow from it. Always strive for what is honorable, beautiful, and highest. Remember that no one can reach perfection, but we can improve upon who we were yesterday."

Congratulations on graduation, Rachel! We can't wait to see what incredible things you do. AOT.

Senior Spotlight: Ashley Howard

Ashley Howard is graduating with a degree in Psychology and a minor in Criminal Justice. After graduation, Ashley says that she "plans to work as a probation officer while getting more accreditation and possibly going to grad school."
Ashley's favorite Kappa Delta tradition is White Rose Weekend, because "it's the time you get to bond most with your sisters and talk to girls you  normally wouldn't be able to talk to."
Ashley's piece of advice for her KD sisters is: "come to as many things as you can. You never know when the moment is that you realize that you made the right choice to stay in Kappa Delta, and to be as involved as you can. I got closer with our ritual through the leadership opportunities."

Good luck, Ashley! Beta Delta will miss you and your friendship--but KD will always be your home. :)

Senior Spotlights: Judy Roche Jackman

Judy is graduating in Family and Consumer Science Education, and plans on teaching high school FACS classes after graduation.
Her favorite Kappa Delta tradition is when we sing in our circle after the last party on Preference Night.
Judy offered a piece of advice to her sisters: "Be forgiving because we all make mistakes and golding a grudge is never worth the energy. Also, laugh more. We take things too seriously."

Good luck in the future, Judy. Thank you for all you have done for our chapter--we love you!

Senior Spotlights: Erin Jelmini

Erin Jelmini is graduating with a dual major in Marketing and Business Administration with an emphasis in Recreation and Tourism. After graduation, Erin will be working in Salt Lake City, Utah as the Marking Coordinator for an online travel distribution company called LeisureLink.
Like Judy, Erin's favorite Kappa Delta memory involves Preference Night. She said, "I love Preference Night. It's always been my favorite part of recruitment and I especially the bonding after the last party when we all sing and cry with the promise of an amazing year. There is something so special about going to McDonald's in a pref dress, staying up all night anxious about the new sisters we'll get, and sharing stories and memories from years past."

Erin's advice to the chapter: "My biggest piece of advice is to get involved and do everything, including activities outside Kappa Delta. The best Kappa Deltas are the ones who have a life outside our organization, but still come home ot us every night and continue to put their all in KD. And when you start to feel burnt out as a senior, and don't worry it will happen,  continue to make your presence with KD because those are the memories you will never want to miss out on. And lastly, remember that no one is perfect. Our imperfections and flaws are what make us beautiful and unique, don't get caught up in the small things. We are all different, we all love Kappa Delta in very different ways, but the important thing is that we all love Kappa Delta. AOT and Boneyhand #1817"
