Sister Spotlight: Erin Jelmini

Erin Jelmini is the current president of the Beta Delta Chapter. She is from Sandy, Utah, and is majoring in Marketing and Business Administration. She will be a senior this year. When Erin's not busy with KD and school, she loves seeing movies, shopping, reading, trying new restaurants, and going to the pool. When the weather is nice she enoys tennis, hiking, and barbecues. We conducted a brief interview with Erin so that she could share some of her favorite parts of Kappa Delta.

What is your favorite thing about serving as president of your chapter?
My favorite thing about serving as chapter president is getting to instill my unconditional love for Kappa Delta and my three years of knowledge into our younger members. Serving in a leadership role is a great way to not only let your KD potential and love grow, but also to help others find their own way in the chapter and understand the true meaning of sisterhood and AOT. As president, younger members of the chapter look to you for guidance and answers and I love being able to share my love for Kappa Delta with them and then in return, seeing their understanding for our chapter grow as they transform into Kappa Delta's future leaders.
What chapter event are you most looking forward to this fall?
White Rose Weekend has always been my favorite part of Fall Semester, and this fall I am especially excited to get the incredible opportunity to lead my chapter in ritual during 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Degrees. White Rose Weekend fills the chapter house with so much love and excitement and it makes me so happy to see sisters bonding with sisters they might not have been as close with before. White Rose Weekend brings new beginnings and is the perfect way kick-off to the holiday season!
What are some ways alumnae can get involved in your chapter?
The Beta Delta chapter has been increasing its Alumnae Relations in recent years, give our past members many opportunities to make the drive up to Logan and visit their alma mater. During Spirit Weekend in the summer we always have a night for alumnae to come play games with us, craft, and participate in storytelling.  Alumnae are invited up during Recruitment to help out in the kitchen and behind the scenes during Preference Night, and remains a favorite among recent graduates. Homecoming is also a popular time for alumnae to come and watch us in the Homecoming Parade on Mainstreet during the day and then tailgate with collegiate members at the football game. Alumnae help us grade and proctor the new member exam, and then leave the members with funny stories from years past. Our alumnae are also involved in our Shamrock events, weddings, random weekend trips, and large charter celebrations, happening every 5th year since 1937.
